Hi everyone, I need to change the way the Informative Post pays for content. Starting now, we will no longer pay an upfront fee for content. This is due to having little sponsorship to help pay our authors. Recently I have been using my own money to help pay the authors.
So again, from this date forward we will no longer be paying for articles upfront. We will still be paying for the performance of each article that we have published and will publish. This value of the CPM payments is likely to rise and will be based upon profits from the site.
This new payment policy also takes into affect all the articles that you have in your queue to be published. If you would like remove these articles from your queue, you are able to do that.
I will still be reviewing articles on a regular basis, but in the mean time I will be looking for a buyer for the Informative Post as I no longer have the time to devote to the site. If you are interested in acquiring the InformativePost.com, please send all offers to dlbrown06 at gmail dot com.
If you have any questions please comment them below.

I thought something was up since you only published 3 days last week and this week only two days. Up until then you were publishing every day. Sorry this isn’t working out for you. Hopefully you will find a buyer. I’m sure some of us will hang in with you for a while!
Thanks for all the help and support over the last three months….I appreciate it!

Hi Doug! Thanks for hanging in there with us. I was confused about what was happening but now I understand. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do next. I plan to continue writing here. Thanks for all your help.

I’m sorry to hear this Doug. You’re a stand up guy and a great person to work with/for. If you ever have any projects in the future where you need some help I would glad to help in any way I can.
Good luck and thank you so much for the opportunity,
-Tyler

Thanks for all the support. I wish I had more time to devote to the Informative Post, but I just got a new job which is taking up a lot of my time. I guess my two and a half hour daily commute is to blame for that as well, but anyways…
All of your posts that you may have in the Informative Post queue will all seem to be expedited. That is because you will no longer receive a payment for those articles. It doesn’t mean anything more than that. You will still get paid for the performance of your articles, so there is still incentive to write news content for the Informative Post.
Also the popular article ideas post will still update everyday, so feel free to use that to generate some ideas for writing other content.
This is my personal site, so I will still be updating this with news about new projects that I will work on for the community and other things like that. If any of you have a need for a PHP script for your own site, let me know and I will consider doing it for free as long as I can publish it on this site as well.

Hi Doug – Just curious, as of right now is the cpm amount that has been in place still be the amount paid? You mentioned that it might go up.
February 10th, 2009 on 11:49 am
Currently it is the same amount, but it will go up if the site generates more income. The site is nonprofit; anything that I make from it, I return back to the authors. So if the site generates more income from advertising, the CPM will rise as well.

Wow Doug, I did not know that the site was completely nonprofit. I feel even worse for my articles not performing better so you could have paid yourself something. Do we still use the same e-mail address to send you donations for the Informative Post through Paypal?

@Tyler – That is really nice of you. Yeah the site was pretty much of a hobby of mine and something that I could put on my Resume I guess. It wasn’t really meant to make any money. The PayPal for donations is still doug@informativepost.com. Thanks.

You were paying us as a hobby! You are a stand-up guy!
