I am sad to say that I have taken the Informative Post down so that I can change my hosting plan to a more affordable package. I would like to extend an enormous amount of gratitude to all the authors that have devoted their time and effort to make the Informative Post a success, but due to my very busy schedule in trying to balance my new job with the site I was very overwhelmed and I had to let this go.
If anyone would be interested in taking over this project I would be happy to auction off ALL of Informative Post’s source code, so that someone else could take over the project. I would love to give it all away, but as many of you know, I have devoted a lot of my own resources into the Informative Post.
So every article that was being offered on the Informative Post, will now be directing to this page on BrownPHP. If you are new to Brown PHP, this is my own personal blog. I write articles covering all sorts of topics, not just PHP articles.
If you would want to follow me, you can find me on Twitter. I’m constantly Twittering all day!

i have a question. i have around $15-ish on my IP account for writing articles for the various clients (like those about universities, baby car seat, american girl doll, etc). will i be able to get the amount?
I WISH THEE BEST TO YOU….WITH UR FINANCE
That’s too bad. However, since I never received a pay-out it begs the question what happens to my articles. Obviously, rights to the articles were not fully transferred due to the lack of pay-out. Can we take those articles elsewhere?
Bye Doug! I will really miss the informative post. The site was very fun to use! Best of luck in the future. Thanks for everything!
As soon as I hit the 151 mark evrything went to hell in a hand basket!! I only came in to try to get out a few pieces that were still waiting. Oh well, they are so outdated at this point it doesn’t matter.
So what happens to the money that was in our account and the right to the articles that were never technically paid for?
I thought for sure InformativePost would have been taken off to become the next big thing. Bummer that it didn’t work out that way. Online work takes massive commitment and dedication. Obviously, if one doesn’t make money, it’s easy to lose focus.
I’ll be honest, I thought V.1 was better than V.2 as it seemed to run much smoother and was easier for me to use.
You keep all the rights to those articles, and are free to distribute them other places without our consent.
No, but you will retain all the rights to those articles that were not paid for. So you can distribute them to other sites without having to provide any credit to the Informative Post.
Yep, they are your articles.
You don’t have to say bye! I’m not going anywhere. I’ll just be working on other projects.
You keep all the rights to those articles. Since I could not pay for them, I cannot share any of the rights to the articles that I couldn’t pay for.
how about the rights for the articles we have written for Informative Post’s clients? i mean, i did not receive the payment for such. but i cannot publish it in other sites and say that it wrote it.
Hi Doug! Sad to hear that IP will no longer with us. I have stopped using AC because of IP..but now I guess, I will have to go back to darn AC to feed my belly.
Can we get those articles somehow that were posted on IP? I do not have any drafts of those articles, so, tell me how can I get those articles that I have already published on IP.
I had 11 bucks pending in my payment too. But, its alright, I can let them go.
I hope to see IP live again some time if not now.
By the way, why didn’t you sell IP on sitepoint? You could have made good profit buddy, and we could have continued with the new owner. I will miss IP.
i have a question. i have around $10 on my IP account for writing articles on the various topics. will i be able to get the amount?
I have answered this question repeatedly in the past. Please reference my other replies under this post for your answer.
I’ll be looking for a new owner for the Informative Post. I still may give Sitepoint a try.
im a bit sad to see my $20+ go… but oh well. the thing is, some of the articles are so outdated theres nopoint keeping them!
