I guess since you’re reading the About page here, you want to know a little about me. I’m a Software Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. I received my degree from Tri-State University, in Angola, IN. I recently got married and am living in Perrysburg, Ohio.
When I graduated college, I took a job as a Software Engineer for a company in Toledo, OH. I worked there for a little over two years (Three, including a year I spent co-oping with them.) programming in C, C++, Visual Basic. I also was in charge of re-designing and re-developing their website from the ground up. Throughout the rest of my employment there I spent my free time doing SEO and SEM for the company’s website.
In the beginning of the forth quarter in the 2008 year, I left the company for an engineering firm in Plymouth, MI; where I currently am working. At my new place of employment, I develop in C, C++, and am starting to take up new responsibilities such as ControlLogix. After working there for a few months, I am again given the responsibility to re-design and re-develop the company’s website. I will also be heading up the SEO and SEM for the company’s site after the official launch.
Web development was a hobby of mine while I was in school and it still is today. Not only is web development my hobby, but the scripting language PHP, or PHP: HyperText Preprocessor. I love the openness of PHP and how it doesn’t discriminate between the hardcore coder, and the programming noob. PHP is a viable solution for anyone.
Throughout the years I have been heavily educated on PHP and its proper coding standards. Along with PHP, I also know MySQL, HTML, JavaScript/AJAX, CSS, XML, Flash and other web languages. I want to use this opportunity to help other PHP programmers like myself.
In my free time I enjoy working on my own network of websites. I built a content management system for writers. This site is called the Informative Post and has grown exponentially since it was first launched in October of 2007. The Informative Post is written in PHP using the Zend Framework my own PHP libraries and MySQL for the database needs. I did it previously with the Zend Framework, but it caused too much lag to the site that I needed to remove it. I’m sure I implemented something incorrectly as I have not heard of anyone else complain about that issue.
I also have developed and currently maintain a few sites that focus on affiliate marketing of certain niches. These sites were also done with PHP.
Obviously, I am a huge evangelist of the PHP programming language, which brings me to this site. I decided to create this site to build a community of PHP users like myself to bounce ideas off and to help eventually troubleshoot each others bugs.
